This test measures the concentration of alcohol in breastmilk. Breast-feeding and alcohol don’t mix well. There is no level of alcohol in breast milk that is considered safe for a baby to drink. When you drink alcohol, it passes into your breast milk at concentrations similar to those found in your bloodstream. However, after nine long months of pregnancy, many moms are interested in having an occasional or celebratory drink, but worry about passing alcohol on to their baby. This test takes away the guessing game!
